Interesses científicos


Os seus interesses científicos são centrados na pesquisa de novas metodologias sintéticas direcionando para derivativos porfíreneos e polifenólicos. Aplicações Medicinais, catalíticas e outras aplicações potenciais para novos produtos também são considerados (às vezes sobre ações interdisciplinares e colaborativas).
As suas linhas de trabalho são as seguintes: Síntese de Porfirineos e compostos relacionados; estudos em aplicações de potencial medicinal de tais heterociclos (ex. em terapia fotodinâmica de células cancerígenas, assim como fotoativação de agentes antibacteriais e antifungicos). Metaloporfírineos como oxidativo catalysts. Síntese, isolamento e caracterização estrutural de compostos naturais (principalmente terpenoids e flavonoides). Oxidativo Catalytical transformações de compostos naturais noutros produtos de valor acrescentado e avaliação de biocidal e características antioxidantes de tais compostos.
