14th European Intensive Course on Complex Analysis and Applications to Partial Differential Equations

This intensive course follows the eleven held at the Universities of Coimbra and Aveiro from 1995 to 2007 and there are plans for intensive courses in the following years. The lecture notes of some of the courses have been published in Coimbra and others are in print.

This intensive course is intended to celebrate the long lasting co-operation between the involved Universities.  Students and Lecturers from almost a dozen European countries participated in the past and we hope that  this will also continue in the future. We kindly ask all of you which kept in touch with former participants  to forward them this message.
This intensive course will have a total of 18 hours of lectures and is at postgraduate level. Lecturers will have time available to discuss with the students. Successfully participating students will get a certificate. This course is organized by the Universities of Coimbra and Aveiro with the same goals as the ones organized under the Socrates/Erasmus Intensive Program of Higher Education, and is opened to all young mathematicians interested in Complex Analysis and its applications. Experiencing Mathematics

The Research Unit Mathematics and Applications is pleased to support the coming of the UNESCO exhibition "Experiencing Mathematics" to Aveiro. This very interactive exhibition is intended to show to all visitors that mathematics is: astonishing, interesting and useful, accessible to everyone, plays a large part in daily life, that they lead to many trades, and has an important role in our culture, development and progress. 5th International Workshop on Multidimensional (nD) Systems - nDS'2007

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the the 5th international workshop on Multidimensional (nD) Systems (nDS2007).
Following the previous four editions (Lagow, 1998, Czocha 2000, Notre Dame 2002, Wuppertal 2005), nDS2007 will be held in Aveiro, Portugal, from June 27 to June 29, 2007.
The aim of this workshop is to present the current state of the art in the theory and applications of multidimensional systems as well as to enable active researchers in the area of nD systems to meet and exchange ideas. We do hope that this will give you a good opportunity to discuss new trends and exchange knowledge and experiences. More info

IASC 07 Statistics for Data Mining, Learning and Knowledge Extraction
