OPEN CLASS: Ecological Footprint of Mediterranean Cities


On June 8, 2017, at 10:30 am, an Open Class will be held with the specialist Alessandro Galli of the Global Footprint Network, under the theme "Ecological Footprint of Mediterranean Cities - critical knowledge to challenge policies in an era of decreasing resources".


Galli is a recognized international researcher who challenges us to understand the concept of the Ecological Footprint and how it can guide us in understanding the impacts of the activities of each country, region or city in the state of the Earth System.


This session is organized as part of a partnership between the Global Footprint Network, ZERO - Sustainable Terrestrial System Association and the GOVCOPP - Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy Research Unit of the University of Aveiro, with the objective of launching a program to measure the Ecological Footprint of Portuguese Municipalities.
