research interests
Rui is developing methods and applications for proteomics. He is particularly interested on the study of the saliva and urine sub-proteomes, in particular to identify and characterize saliva and urine proteins and understand how specific pathophysiological conditions affect those sub-proteomes. His main research objective is to identify biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets.
